SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP
The society, founded in 1972, promotes the study and recording of all aspects of the archaeology and history of bricks, brickmaking and brickwork.
Members are drawn from many backgrounds: geologists, archaeologists, schoolteachers, artists, historians, brickmakers, bricklayers, architects, engineers, etc. Some have a professional interest in a particular aspect of the subject, while for others membership is an extension of a general interest or hobby. All share a fascination for the history and development of the manufacture and use of bricks.
