PROFESSIONAL BODY
The Museums Association is the professional association for museums and heritage sites in the UK and the oldest organisation of its kind in the world; it celebrated its 125th year in 2014. It is a membership organisation with 60,000 contacts in 7,000 organisations throughout the UK and is highly respected and independent.
Members join the Museums Association because it offers professional information and advice on how to run their organisations. It also advocates for museums, sets ethical standards, runs essential training, professional development and holds a major annual conference and exhibition.
Membership includes subscriptions to its publications, discounts on events and a membership card giving the member free entry to over 900 museums and exhibitions throughout the UK. |
