PROFESSIONAL BODY
The RICS is the professional body for surveyors in the UK. Its Building Conservation Forum provides a mechanism for all those interested, involved or affected by building conservation issues to network, and it works to increase the profile of building conservation. Membership of the forum is free. Benefits include a regular journal, designated section of the website, events, directory of accredited conservation surveyors, networking and other products/services.
To meet the requirements of English Heritage, churches etc for grant funded work, the Forum also has a highly significant accreditation system for professionals who have been assessed as expert practitioners in conservation. Most are RICS members, but the scheme is open to members of certain other professional bodies.
