During the second half of the 20th century there was a growing interest in the setting of our historic buildings, particularly historic planned landscapes and gardens. Following the National Heritage Act in 1983, the Register of Parks & Gardens was established to record sites of particular significance across the nation. Today, more than 1,600 sites are listed. In this webinar, SPAB discusses the sources used in evaluating the sites and the various approaches to their conservation, restoration and recreation of features. |
