A day of short presentations at Birmingham City University regarding 20th-century+ buildings and design from members, holidayers, academics alike. This year will feature: the Art Deco Fumoir bar, London; Spaghetti Western film sets in Almeria, Expo site, Turkey; The Pompidou Centre, Paris – still dividing opinion; Fertilia, an Italian Fascist new town; Three concrete sculptural walls by Antony Hollaway, 1961-1; and INA-CASA housing and neighbourhoods in Florence built as part of Italian post-war neo rationalism. |
