This one day brings together architects and conservation specialists to discuss heritage protection in conflict zones. Historic buildings and cultural sites face increasing threats from war, requiring urgent strategies for documentation, protection and restoration. The damage from war is lasting and affects both buildings and communities long after their initial impact. In this forum experts will explore international legal frameworks, ethical rebuilding and innovative technologies such as drone mapping and digital reconstruction. The speakers will assess how both buildings and their communities can be protected and rebuilt during and post-conflict, highlighting both the limitations the environment provides and how architects and organisations must adapt in light of these limitations. |
