The fourth in a series of archaeological conferences convened by Essex County Council since 1978, serving to summarise archaeological work taking place in the county and provide timely reviews of current archaeological knowledge. There will be 14 talks on a variety of subjects throughout the day, as well as opportunities to view stands of archaeological organisations in the breakout rooms. Topics include the timber-framed buildings of Essex, the enhancement of the Essex Historic Environment Record, and Napoleonic defences on the Essex coastline.
