This course aims to train a person in the skills and knowledge needed to achieve the standards of competence to safely produce lead roofing components by the bossing and welding techniques and will be run by a qualified staff member of the Lead Sheet Association. This course has two parts , lead welding & bossing: Welding is the alternative method for shaping lead and can also be used when sheets need to be joined together. Both methods must be achieved neatly and without compromising the weatherproofing quality of the installation. They demand a high degree of skill and knowledge. Bossing is the method used to shape and form lead sheet into complex shapes and joints without leaving tool marks or causing any significant reduction in the thickness of the metal. |
