Join the SPAB and the Betjeman Society for an evening lecture by Professor Frances Spalding CBE. The lecture will explore the personal friendship and creative collaborations of poet, architectural commentator and broadcaster Sir John Betjeman and artist John Piper. Described as "a marriage of minds, a perfect combination of sympathies" their shared love of 'unfashionable architecture' and the country's landscape coloured both their own work and the Shell Guide travel books on which they worked together from the 1930s - 1950s. |
