26th Aug, 2023 Paisley, Scotland |
|
Join the The Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland for a walking tour of Paisley. The town has a long history, starting with the foundation of the Abbey in 1163; burgh status in 1488; weaving and spinning in the 18th century through to the 20th century; and now a service centre with a large hospital, university campus and Glasgow Airport. This has has left the town with a rich and diverse built heritage. This AHSS walking tour will be led by Duncan Macintosh, local historian and former conservation officer for Renfrewshire Council. It includes tea and cake! |
