Join the SPAB Essex group to visit the Langford pumping station, now home to the Museum of Power, originally designed to provide a daily supply of seven million gallons of drinking water. After lunch the group tour heads to Beeleigh Mill. This site, which is Grade II*, now comprises the building housing the steam engine and the drive gearing for its millstones, the brick housing for one of the waterwheels, and the two adjacent brick-lined barge docks used for loading flour for shipment to London. |
