This webinar will present the findings from Historic England's building services engineers and their consultant Ove Arup on their latest study 'Hydroelectric Power in Historic Landscapes', which investigated the performance of a cross-section of micro-hydro schemes currently operating within historic landscapes in England. Historic water mills have the potential to be re-purposed for hydroelectric power generation. As well as being favourably sited to maximise energy potential, readapting water mills has the potential to reduce embodied carbon emissions. The case studies will be presented along with key findings. |
