PROFESSIONAL BODY
The RIBA is a professional body for architects mainly in the UK. It aims to promote good practice in building conservation both among RIBA members and building owners.
RIBA administers an accreditation scheme, the RIBA Conservation Register, for chartered architects working on historic buildings. The register has three levels of membership:
- Specialist Conservation Architect (SCA)
An architect who has authoritative knowledge of conservation practice and extensive experience of working with historic buildings - Conservation Architect (CA)
An architect who has in-depth knowledge and experience of working with historic buildings - Conservation Registrant (CR) (non-accredited)
An architect who has an awareness of the issues involved in working with historic buildings and has attended a conservation course approved by the RIBA
RIBA runs two application windows every year for any architect who wants to join the Conservation Register at SCA or CA level. Visit their webpage or email conservation.register@riba.org to find out more.

When contacting any company on this website, please mention how you found them.
