COURSES AND TRAINING

The Tywi Centre is a heritage training and information centre based in Carmarthenshire, providing short courses in old building maintenance and repair, conservation and traditional rural trades, and a Heritage Bursary Scheme. The HBS is a-year long training course for craftsmen and women wanting to achieve an NVQ 3 Heritage in traditional carpentry, plastering, stone masonry or roofing skills.

Information and helpsheets are provided on traditional building repair, rural trades and skills, biodiversity and cultural heritage.

Cultural Heritage grants are available for projects which promote the cultural distinctiveness of rural Carmarthenshire. Eligible projects include interpretation boards; Promotional materials; Heritage paths and trails; and Small-scale capital works that seek to enhance the historic environment.
